About Erin
Yoga Teacher & PR ProfessionalMy Story
Yoga is my saving grace. Through every season of life and all the ups and downs yoga has remained the practice I keep coming back to.
My first introduction to yoga was actually through a Rodney Yee VHS tape borrowed from a college friend (which I still feel slightly guilty about never returning!).
In 2009, I made a challenging move to the Deep South and began practicing regularly at a local YMCA. Over time, yoga became much more than just a workout. It evolved into a grounding, empowering, and deeply supportive practice that helped me feel stronger, steadier, and more connected.
In 2017, I completed my 200-hour Yoga Alliance teacher training after an intensive eight-month program. Since then, I’ve taught hundreds of hours of classes in a wide variety of locations including yoga studios, schools, gyms, workplaces, community spaces, summer camps, and private settings.
One of the things I love most about yoga is that it truly is for everybody and every body. Yoga is a practice for all.
Because of that philosophy, I’ve embraced many styles of yoga and can teach vinyasa flow, power flow, candlelight yoga/slow flow, yin yoga, gentle yoga, yoga for children, chair yoga, and restorative yoga – all with a focus on mindful movement.
My classes focus on thoughtful sequencing, approachable movement, and creating space for people to tune into how they feel in the moment.
Outside of yoga, I work in communications and public relations, which has shaped the way I teach. I value clear communication, authenticity, and creating environments where people feel comfortable, supported, and welcome.
At the heart of it all, I teach from a place of gratitude. Yoga has helped me feel more alive, resilient, grounded, and empowered, and I’m passionate about sharing that with others. My goal is to create a space where people can breathe, move, reconnect with themselves, and recognize their own strength — both on and off the mat.
My Values & Beliefs
Authenticity
I believe yoga begins with showing up as you are. My approach to teaching is grounded, approachable, and free of pressure or perfection. I strive to create a welcoming space where people can move, breathe, and connect with themselves in an honest and supportive way.
Gratitude
Yoga is an opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and appreciate both the strength and stillness within us. I approach each class with gratitude for the practice, the community it creates, and the opportunity to support others in feeling more balanced, present, and well.
Resiliency
Movement teaches us how to navigate challenge with patience and compassion. Through yoga, I encourage people to build resilience not only physically, but mentally and emotionally — learning to adapt, grow, and return to themselves through every season of life.
My Approach
In class, you may hear me say, “this is yoga fun, not yoga serious!”. This is because I fully believe that yoga has the capacity to be both a transformative experience, and also you may fall over in the process.
Life can be so heavy at times. Yoga gives us the space to balance steadiness and ease in mind and body. But it’s never so serious as to detract someone from stepping onto a mat and trying one breath at a time.
